Jerry K. Jackson was called by New Liberty Church to become Pastor on August 17, 2008. Jerry was saved at the age of 12 at Tunnel Hill Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill, Illinois. He went to work for Caterpillar, East Peoria in June of 1966 and married Elaine Boner that December. They have served in a variety of positions within the local church wherever they lived. He took early retirement from Caterpillar at the end of December, 1996 and has taught at Purdue University (1994-1998) in West Lafayette, Indiana, Hardin-Simmons School of Business (1998-2001) in Abilene, Texas, and Baptist Bible College (2001-2004) in Springfield, Missouri. They moved back to southern Illinois in June of 2004. He presently facilitates Masters and MBA on-line classes through Indiana Wesleyan University in addition to his pastoral duties.
They have three children: Kelly Jackson who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Kindra Grimes who is married to John and have two boys, Samuel and Nicholas and live in Greenwood, Indiana, and Keith Jackson who is married to Erin and have one daughter, Kayla and four boys, Josiah, Elias, Jaden, and Kirk and live in Carbondale, Illinois. Jerry and Elaine have been caretakers for Elaine's brother Tony since 1982. Tony has Down's Syndrome. Jerry, Elaine and Tony live on the Lake of Egypt in Johnson County.
Jerry holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
